Described by Rhythm Magazine as “one of the most jaw dropping drummers in the UK”, Mark is renowned for his aggressive style, frightening speed and flawless technique which when combined make him one of the greatest drummers in the world today. A member of post punk legends Gang of Four since 2005, Mark Heaney has recorded and globally toured three albums with the band. He has also collaborated with producers and artists including Youth (Killing Joke, The Verve), Garrett Lee (U2, Bloc Party), David Botrill (Placebo, Dream Theater), Andy Gill (Futureheads, Young Knives), John Squire (The Stone Roses), Jacknife Lee and many more. In early 2012 Mark created “Monument of Sound”, a banner under which to release his vast catalogue of solo work past and present. Inspired by acts such as UNKLE and Death In Vegas, MOS is a distinctive blend of intense live drumming and guitars, fused with ambient pads and synths.
